CLUB RULES



----------------------- Land Owner Rules -----------------------

1. Shall wear hunter orange at all times while in the wooded areas or while hunting as specifically required by the LA Game Laws

2. Shall wear hunter orange at all times when riding in open three or four-wheel hunting vehicles and the furthermore, said vehicles shall not be operated at speeds in excess of ten miles per hour (10 mph) under any circumstance

3. Shall not consume alcoholic beverages of any kind before or during all hunting

4. Shall comply with all the terms, conditions and provisions of the License Agreement.

a. A copy of the lease agreement can be provided to any member upon request.

5. Do not cut down pine trees

6. Obey all game laws as well as all state and local laws at all times.

a. All game law violations must be reported to the property management company

b. No person that has ever been found guilty of breaking any game law can be allowed to access the leased property by the club

7. No metal object shall be allowed to penetrate any tree, except staples (type T50) no larger than ½"

8. Every guest must sign an annual acknowledgment waiver for each of the leased properties before being allowed access

CAMP AND GENERAL RULES

1. A guest fee of $25 per day shall be collected for any person attending a hunt.

i. The exclusion of a guest fee is explicitly limited to:

1. Any person under the age of 18

2. Spouse (of member)

3. Parent (of member)

ii. The member shall be responsible for collecting all guest fees and turn them in to be placed in the

general fund.

2. All members will be required to participate in two (2) work weekends.

1. There shall be at least two (2) work weekends that will be organized and scheduled by a board member, in advance, that will allow a reasonable amount of time for all members to make plans in attending.

2. It is MANDATORY for every member to attend at least one (1) scheduled work weekend

i. If a member is unable to attend the second scheduled work weekend, it will be their responsibility to coordinate with a board member to be assigned task that they will need to complete

3. Any member that does not meet the required participation will be required to pay $300.00 by September 1st of that year as their contribution or they will not be allowed to hunt.

3. No Smoking shall be allowed inside of the camp at any time.

1. Please also have consideration for other people's clothing and hunting gear out on the porches.

4. All camp doors must remain closed when the heaters or A/C units are running.

5. No loaded rifles or crossbow shall be allowed in the camp.

6. The penalty for any rule violation that does not have a specified consequence shall be:

1. 1st Offence = $150 Fine

2. 2nd Offence within two (2) consecutive years = $300 Fine

3. 3rd Offence within three (3) consecutive years = Termination of membership

HUNTING RULES

1. No hunting preparations shall be allowed after one (1) week prior the opening of bow season

2. A minimum weight limit of 70 pounds for any deer shot.

a. $50.00 fine

i. The member will be held responsible for their guest.

3. Each member is allowed to shoot a maximum of 3 does and 2 bucks.

a. A buck shall be defined as any male deer regardless of how it is tagged.

b. Only the first Buck harvested can be a "Buck of Choice". Try not to shoot any spikes or button bucks.

i. Any antlered buck taken at any other time must be a "Quality Buck" (as defined)

1. "Quality Buck" is any antlered buck having a minimum inside antler spread greater than the ears measured from tip to tip in an alert position (at least 13-inches)


ii. 

iii. A photo with proof of measurement for every "Quality Buck" harvested must be sent to all members within 72 hours of the time of harvest.

1. The "Board of Directors" will validate the harvest as a "Quality Buck"

c. A member shall be allowed one (1) deer shot by a guest. All additional deer shot thereafter by any guest of that member shall be deducted from that member's allowed quota.

4. No person shall hunt a member's stand without the owner's permission.

5. Beginning the day after Labor Day, until the end of an open deer season, no member will be allowed to access, pass through or be in the area of another member's hunting stands without the member's permission or a justifiable cause (recovery of an animal).

STAND RULES

1. All Permanent and Satellite stand locations must be approved.

a. See Stand Approval Process under Procedures.

2. No moving of stand locations during any open deer season.

3. Each member is allowed a maximum of 3 approved permanent stands.

a. No member shall hunt within 250 yards of another members approved stand location

i. The minimum distance for a new stand location can be disputed during the stand approval process due to existing condition of the terrain at the time of the request for a stand approval.

b. Each member is allowed no more than 1 approved satellite stand for each approved permanent stand

i. The satellite stand is not a primary stand and is considered an extension of the permanent stand to allow alternative methods of hunting a permanent stand location.

a. Example: Bow hunting at a box stand

b. Example: Closer distance to feeder for primitive firearm

2. If a permanent stand is approved in a location that places an approved satellite stand closer than 250 yards then the owner of the satellite stand will be required to remove the satellite stand.

a. Before the removed satellite stand can be relocated, the new location must first be approved. 

ii. The satellite stand may not exceed a maximum distance of 150 yards from the associated approved permanent stand.

4. All stands must be recorded on the stand map/list.

a. The stand map/list shall be maintained as accurately and up to date as possible by the Secretary/Treasurer.

5. All stands (including box stands and ground blinds) must be visibly marked identifying the owner's name and phone number.

a. At a minimum the marking should be made with a standard size sharpie or other similar permanent marker that will not easily fade, scratch, or peel.

b. The markings need to only be large enough to be easily located and legible to other members.

c. It shall be the owners responsibility to refresh or touchup the markings to maintain their legibility over time.

d. Any unmarked stand that is found may be subject to removal.

i. See Unmarked or Unapproved Stands under Procedures.

6. Temporary Stands (climbers, ground blinds, ext.)

a. Temporary stands must be visibly marked identifying the owner's name and phone number.

b. May be hunted in an unapproved location but in a temporary situation only.

i. No food plots

ii. No lane cutting

iii. No feeders (mechanical or gravity)

c. Can only be left out in the woods while the member is at the camp or other reasonably close location with the intent to hunt it again before returning home.

d. Must conform to the minimum distance from any other member's stands.

e. A temporary marker must also be placed on the map identifying it's location as accurately as possible. (This is for everyone's safety!)

i. The marker must also identify it as a temporary stand and the owner.

f. Any unmarked stand that is found may be subject to removal.

i. See Unmarked or Unapproved Stands under Procedures. 

7. Vacated stand locations

a. When a member gets out of the lease his stand locations will be passed out to new or existing members on a lottery basis. 

b. Said stand will become one of the 3 permanent stands for the member that wins the lottery.

c. Existing members will have first opportunity to draw for a vacant stand before new members.

i. An existing member must be present to participate in the stand drawings.

1. Unless during the previous hunting season that member did not have the maximum number of allowed hunting stands.

a. And that member must coordinate with another member, whom is not a board member, and will be present at the drawing to draw on their behalf.

2. An existing member may only receive one stand from the stand drawings.

a. Once an existing member has obtained a stand from the drawing they shall become ineligible to participate in any further stand drawings.

b. An existing member whom acquires a vacated stand location must give up one of their permanent stand locations at that time to be distributed as a vacated stand location.

3. An existing member that joined after the stand drawing had already taken place for that year can only draw as an existing member if they have a stand to forfeit. However, they will be allowed to draw as a new member for the following season until the point where they possess 2 stands.

8. Swapping stands

a. The swapping of stands between members without any expectation of either member ending their membership may be allowed.

i. The stand changes must be submitted through the stand approval process for review and approval.

ii. The request must be made in good faith as to not elude the stand lottery from an exiting member.

---------------------------- Procedures ----------------------------

1. Membership Dues

a. Membership dues will be due by April 1st of each year.

i. The amount owed by the due date will be the actual membership price from the pervious year plus an additional $50.

1. The actual membership price will be calculated after all leases have been renewed and any cost increases have been applied.

2. New Members

 a. Potential new members should be introduced to the camp and its members.

b. Potential new members will need to be accepted by existing members before being allowed to become a member.

c. Any previous members wishing to rejoin will always be granted precedence over new members.

3. Stand Approval Process

a. A request must be submitted to the Secretary/Treasurer.

i. Most identify requesting member

Must identify stand type (Permanent or Satellite)

ii. Most identify actual GPS coordinates of intended stand location.

1. If approved the stand must be in the requested location or the approval will not be valid.

2. A minimal margin of error will be allowed for the purpose of GPS accuracy.

b. Secretary/Treasurer will map the requested location, identify the effected members, and compile into a request packet then forward it to the President.

c. The President will distribute the packet to the board members as well as the effected members.

d. The effected members will be given a deadline to reply back to the President with any concerns that they may have.

e. The President will distribute any concerns to the board members and call for a vote.

f. The board members will review the request along with any concerns and determine if a vote can be made or if more time is needed to physically tour the requested location before making a vote.

i. If more time is needed the board members shall notify the President who will update the requesting member of the status of their request.

ii. Due to the distance of travel, a physical tour of the requested location will be limited to the available opportunity of the board members.

g. The President will tally the votes and notify the requesting member, the effected members and the board members of the results.

4. Unmarked or Unapproved Stands

a. Any member finding an unmarked or unmapped/unapproved stand shall report it to the Secretary/Treasurer.

i. The following information will be need:

1. The exact location of the stand (GPS coordinates preferred)

2. The stand marking information if available.

3. A description of the stand.

b. The Secretary/Treasurer will make an attempt to identify the stand and/or its owner.

i. If the stand is found to be valid the reporting member will be informed.

ii. If the stand is not valid the President shall be informed of such.

1. The reporting member might also be granted permission to take down the stand and bring it to the camp.

5. Reporting Trespassers

a. Caught in the act

i. Any member catching someone in the act of trespassing, without a justifiable reason, shall contact the Sheriff's Office depending on which parish the incident has occurred.

ii. The President shall be notified as soon as the opportunity will allow.

b. Caught after the fact

(For the purpose of this section, all communication between persons shall be done through the means of email or other written correspondence).

i. Any evidence that could be used to identify an individual trespassing as well as the location the evidence was obtained shall be submitted to the President.

ii. The President shall make an attempt to identify the person.

1. If the individual is not identified as a member then the evidence will be reported to the Sheriff's Office.

2. If the individual is identified as a member then the President will contact the accused member requesting a reason for the trespassing.

a. The accused member shall submit their reply to the President.

b. The President shall distribute the evidence and the accuser's response to the board members and request a vote on the justification for the violation.

c. The board members shall review all of the information that was provided and submit their vote to the President.

d. The President shall tally the votes and notify the accused member, the reporting member, as well as the board members as to the verdict of the vote.

i. If the accused member's actions were found to be unjustified the member will be given a warning for the first offence and advised of the consequences of a second offence.

1. A second offence shall be grounds for dismissal.
